Drainfield Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Spartanburg
The drainfield is where the real treatment happens. Effluent leaves the tank and disperses through the soil, where bacteria finish the job. When a field clogs and effluent surfaces, the whole system backs up. Insidemichiganpolitics builds new gravel trench and plastic chamber drainfields for Spartanburg homes, sized from the perc rate so the soil can absorb the daily flow without saturating.
Why the Drainfield Fails
- Overloaded tank. Solids that escape a full or undersized tank blind the soil and choke the field.
- Slow clay soil. The Upstate red clay drains slowly, so a field that is too small never keeps up.
- A settled D-box. A tilted distribution box floods one trench and starves the rest, wearing out a section early.
Our Process
We run a perc test and read the soil profile, then design the field to the size the county will permit. We lay the perforated distribution pipe in trenches over washed gravel, or set gravelless chamber units where they fit better, and level the distribution box so every lateral gets an even share. On high water table lots we build up an engineered mound instead. We backfill, grade for runoff, and coordinate the inspection.
